Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Milton Icehawks defeated the Georgetown Raiders in a shootout 4-3 (2-0 SO). The shootout featured five attempts between both teams. Milton's other shootout goal was scored by Shane Bennett.The Icehawks saw a three-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Milton made the score 3-0 on a goal by Brad Kobryn at 4:18 in the third period. Georgetown evened things up at 3-3 on a goal by Brendan Woods at 19:04 in the third period. Bennett was all over the ice for the Icehawks, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Bennett scored on the power play 8:30 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Milton. A high sticking penalty on Alex Adams had put Milton on the power play. Kane Elliot assisted on the tally. The Icehawks stifled the Raiders' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Milton also got points from Elliot, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Milton were Austin Kosack and Justin Devincentis, who contributed one a piece. Milton was unable to stop Georgetown from sending pucks towards the net, and the Raiders eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Georgetown's normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. The Raiders are averaging 1.9 goal against for the season. Georgetown was led by Anthony Marra, who finished with two goals and one assist. Marra scored the first of his two goals at 6:11 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Milton. Adams picked up the assist. Marra's next tally made the score 3-2 Milton with 5:11 left in the third period. Adams provided the assist. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Tyler MacPherson, John Adams, and Robbie Murden, who each chipped in one. Andre Keire recorded 34 saves for the Icehawks. Milton incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Daniel Mannella made 22 saves for the Raiders on 25 shots. Georgetown incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
