Trenton survives Newmarket comeback, wins 3-2

The Newmarket Hurricanes tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Trenton Golden Hawks held on for a 3-2 victory.

Trenton took a 3-1 lead during the second period, only to have Newmarket storm back on a Ian Farrell goal 1:07 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Krystian Yorke was all over the ice for the Golden Hawks, as he grabbed two goals in the win.

Trenton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Jordan Minello also scored for Trenton. In addition, Trenton received assists from Brady Wiffen, who had two and Shawn Hulshof, Alex Leader, Nolan Martin, and Ryan Johnson, who each chipped in one.

Newmarket also got a goal from Brycin Morrison as well. More assists for Newmarket came via Sean Walker, Brandon Francisco, Justin Maiolino, and Matt LeMasurier, who contributed one a piece.

The Golden Hawks' Brendan O'Neill (APJ) stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Trenton incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Matthew Wintjes rejected 21 shots on goal for the Hurricanes. Newmarket incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
