Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Lindsay Muskies defeated the Kingston Voyageurs in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO). The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.Lindsay overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Muskies was down 2-0 after a goal by Kingston's Michael Schug at 13:04 in the first period. Lindsay tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Tyler Donaldson at 17:15 in the third period. The Muskies excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Lindsay forced the Voyageurs goalie Charlie Finn to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots. Matt McCartney also scored for Lindsay. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Cole Murduff, who had two and Dylan Fitze and Dean Klomp, who contributed one a piece. Kingston kept the Muskies' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tanner Davis made 39 saves on 41 shots. The Voyageurs were helped by Graham Yeo, who grabbed one goal. Yeo scored 12:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kingston. Ludlow Harris picked up the assist. More assists for Kingston came via Chad Duchesne, Brian Nanne, and David Quesnele, who each chipped in one. Lindsay incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Finn rejected 48 shots on goal for Kingston. The Voyageurs incurred 40 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kingston ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brett Seney was ejected from the game.
