Kingston squeaks by Pickering, 4-2

The game between the Kingston Voyageurs and the Pickering Panthers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Kingston emerged with a 4-2 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Michael Casale secured the win for the Voyageurs with a goal in the second period.

Pickering's power play was ineffective against Kingston's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Voyageurs were led by Greg Trichilo, who tallied one goal. Trichilo scored on the power play 14:49 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kingston. Kingston had taken the advantage when the Panthers' Jeff Heard got sent off for tripping. Francesco Vilardi assisted on the tally.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 18:55 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Pickering was unable to stop the Voyageurs from sending pucks towards the net, and Kingston eventually piled up 46 shots on goal.

Joey Seney also scored for Kingston. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Brett Du Puy, who had two and Chad Duchesne, Brian Nanne, Graham Yeo, Brandon Wolframe, and Brett Seney, who contributed one a piece.

The Panthers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 21 minutes in penalties during the game.

Pickering also got a goal from Derek Sheppard as well. More assists for Pickering came via Andrew McCann and Dylan Hutton, who each chipped in one.

Charlie Finn rejected 28 shots on goal for the Voyageurs. Kingston totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 3-for-8 on the power play. For the Voyageurs, Tyler McCarthy was ejected from the game. Pickering's Spencer Bacon stopped 42 shots out of the 46 that he faced. Team's Aidan Wallace and Sheppard were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
