Oakville downs Milton in overtime, 5-4 (OT)Milton Memorial Arena Sun, Sep 30, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Spencer Green gave the Oakville Blades a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Milton Icehawks when he scored 3:17 into the extra period. Oakville overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Blades fell behind 4-1 after a goal by Milton's Shane Bennett at 46 seconds in the third period. Oakville tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Kris Bennet at 17:04 in the third period. With four goals and one assist between them, Matt Alvaro and Bennet teamed up to power the Blades' offense. Alvaro had two goals and Bennet also added two goals and one assist. Oakville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Milton power plays. The Icehawks were unable to stop the Blades from sending pucks towards the net, and Oakville eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. Oakville additionally got points from Bennet, who also racked up two goals and one assist and Green, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Oakville came via Aidan Orbinski, Nathan Renouf, Jonah Renouf, Zach Berg, Vince Palermo, Marc Silvestro, and Stefan Leblanc, who contributed one a piece.
