Sinclair leads Burlington over Mississauga, 6-1Wave Twin Rinks - Black Sun, Sep 30, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Burlington Cougars had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over the Mississauga Chargers. Luke Sinclair had two goals and one assist to lead Burlington. Sinclair scored the first of his two goals at 11:10 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Burlington. Shane Conacher provided the assist. Sinclair's next tally made the score 5-1 Burlington with 13:40 left in the third period. Michael Courvoisier assisted on the tally. Mississauga was stymied by the Cougars netminder Brock Novak, who stopped 40 shots during the victory. Novak managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.76 prior to the game. Mississauga stifled the Cougars' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Chargers forced Burlington goalie Novak to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Mississauga was led by Jimmy Cusan, who scored the team's only goal. Cusan scored 7:06 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Stefano Alonzi provided the assist. The Cougars registered zero goals on three power play opportunities. Alex Lepore rejected 31 shots on goal for the Chargers. Mississauga incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
