Burlington downs Oakville in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

Jeremy Gottzmann gave the Burlington Cougars a 2-1 (OT) victory over the Oakville Blades when he scored 12 seconds into the extra period.

Oakville was stymied by Burlington netminder Alex Murray, who stopped 31 shots during the victory. Murray managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.36 prior to the game.

The Cougars were led by Gottzmann, who racked up one goal.

Burlington put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Blades to score on any of their three power plays.

Burlington also got a goal from Michael Courvouisier as well. In addition, Burlington received assists from Steven Mueller and Brett Coulson, who each chipped in one.

Oakville could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Blades put an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game. Oakville's offense rang up 32 shots on the Cougars' net.

The Blades were led by Nathan Renouf, who scored the team's only goal. Renouf scored 3:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Oakville. Jonah Renouf picked up the assist.

Burlington incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Cougars, Jack OHara was ejected from the game. Oakville's Evan Buitenhuis stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Blades incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
