Trenton wins tough contest against Kingston, 3-2INVISTA Center Thu, Sep 27, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Trenton Golden Hawks and the Kingston Voyageurs were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Trenton made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2. The Golden Hawks gained the winning advantage on a goal by Josh Timpano 18:28 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer. Sammy Banga was all over the ice for Trenton, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Banga scored on the power play 6:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Trenton. The Golden Hawks had gotten the advantage when Kingston's Scott Mossman was sent off for hooking. Timpano picked up the assist. Trenton kept the Voyageurs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Charlie Finn made 28 saves on 31 shots. Trenton also got points from Timpano, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Jordan Minello also scored for Trenton. More assists for Trenton came via Ian Chen, Erlich Doerksen, and Brandon Scott, who each chipped in one. Kingston was helped by Greg Trichilo, who grabbed one goal. Trichilo scored on the power play 16:00 into the second period to make the score 2-2. The Voyageurs had taken the advantage when the Golden Hawks' Ryan Johnson got sent off for high sticking. Francesco Vilardi assisted on the tally. Kingston also got a goal from Chad Duchesne as well. In addition, Kingston received assists from Michael Casale and Ludlow Harris, who contributed one a piece. Andrew Winsor made 28 saves for Trenton on 30 shots. The Golden Hawks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Kingston incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Voyageurs, Trichilo was ejected from the game.
