Huge game by Woods boosts Georgetown over Toronto, 3-1

The Georgetown Raiders' Brendan Woods had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 3-1 win over the Toronto Junior Canadiens.

Woods got on the board by slotting home a goal 4:10 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown. Nick Perruccio assisted on the tally. Woods dished an assist on Perruccio's goal that made the score 1-0 Georgetown at 17:57 into the second period. He added another helper on Robbie Murden's goal that made the score 3-1 Georgetown at 15:59 into the third period.

Georgetown was led by goalie Daniel Mannella, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. Mannella certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.78 entering the contest.

The Raiders' penalty kill excelled, as Georgetown gave up one goal despite allowing nine power plays.

The the Raiders penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and two majors for 46 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 30.0 minutes per game Georgetown had been spending in the box.

Georgetown additionally got points from Perruccio, who also had one goal and one assist and Murden, who also registered one goal and two assists. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Santino Centorame, who had one.

Toronto was led by Connor Prudames, who scored the team's only goal. Prudames scored on the power play 8:03 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Georgetown. The Junior Canadiens had gotten the advantage when the Raiders' Alex Adams was sent off for interference.

Georgetown registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For the Raiders, Jake Emilio was ejected from the game. Denny Dubblestyne rejected 26 shots on goal for Toronto. The Junior Canadiens incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
