Pickering outlasts Lindsay, 4-3Pickering Recreation Complex Sun, Sep 23, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Pickering Panthers and the Lindsay Muskies were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Pickering made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3. The Panthers gained the winning advantage on a goal by Aidan Wallace 16:56 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer. Pickering got the win with help from a great game by Matt Galati, who had two goals and one assist. Galati scored the first of his two goals at 17:26 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Andrew McCann picked up the assist. Galati's next tally made the score 2-2 with 19:16 left in the second period. Wallace provided the assist. The Panthers struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 21 penalty minutes for five opposing power plays. Pickering additionally got points from Wallace, who also registered one goal and two assists. Cody Doiron also scored for Pickering. More assists for Pickering came via Cory Lauer, who had one. Lindsay forced Pickering goalie Spencer Bacon to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. The Muskies were led by Vince Herlihey, who tallied one goal and two assists. Herlihey scored on the power play 8:48 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Lindsay had gotten the advantage when the Panthers' Wallace was sent off for boarding. Felix Chamberland assisted on the tally. Lindsay also got points from Louis-David Bourgault, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Chamberland, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Cole Murduff and Brian Hubers, who contributed one a piece. Bacon rejected 37 shots on goal for Pickering. The Panthers registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. For Pickering, Cameron Palmer was ejected from the game. Tanner Davis made 11 saves before being replaced by Greg Zupan, who took the loss and made 11 saves. The Muskies ended with 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors. For Lindsay, Murduff and Tyler Donaldson were ejected from the contest.
