Newmarket downs Wellington, 3-0

Brycin Morrison had one point to lead the Newmarket Hurricanes to a 3-0 victory over the Wellington Dukes.

Newmarket avoided man-down situations well, registering one major for five minutes in penalty time. The Hurricanes finished below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. Newmarket was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Hurricanes allow 2.3 goals per game. Newmarket's offense rang up 43 shots on Wellington's net.

Newmarket additionally got points from Brandon Francisco, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Calvin Higley also scored for Newmarket. More assists for Newmarket came via Alex Bontje, Chris Chiste, Justin Maiolino, Daniel Leavens, and Matthew Wintjes, who contributed one a piece.

The Dukes could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Wellington puts an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game.
