The Buffalo Jr. Sabres had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the St. Michaels Buzzers. Buffalo's Parker Gahagen was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 35 saves and let only one puck past him. Gahagen certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.0 entering the contest. The Jr. Sabres pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 14 penalty minutes. Buffalo excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. St. Michaels was unable to stop the Jr. Sabres from sending pucks towards the net, and Buffalo eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. The Jr. Sabres were helped by Nolan Sheeran, who finished with one goal. Sheeran scored 19:48 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Buffalo. Max Mikowski provided the assist. Buffalo also got points from Tyler Gjurich, who also tallied one goal and one assist and David Seward, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Buffalo also got a goal from Alex Dagnal as well. Other players who recorded assists for Buffalo were Josh Kielich, who had two and Darrin Trebes, Ryan Schmelzer, and Pat Egan, who each chipped in one. The Buzzers were held below their usual level of production. St. Michaels averages 4.3 goals per game. The Buzzers forced Buffalo goalie Gahagen to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. St. Michaels was led by Nicholas Lepone, who scored the team's only goal. Lepone scored 12:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1. CJ Shugart picked up the assist. The Jr. Sabres registered one goal on five power play opportunities. George Argiropoulos made 31 saves for the Buzzers on 35 shots. St. Michaels incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
