Mississauga downs Burlington, 3-1Port Credit Arena Wed, Sep 19, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Trevor Warnaar finished with two points to lead the Mississauga Chargers to a 3-1 victory over the Burlington Cougars. Burlington was unable to stop Mississauga from sending pucks towards the net, and the Chargers eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Mississauga also got a goal from A Latina as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mississauga were Jimmy Cusan, who had two and Stefano Alonzi, Zackery Landsfield, and Lucas Venuto, who each chipped in one. The Cougars excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Burlington's offense operated below it season average. The Cougars average 3.8 goals per game. Burlington was led by Shane Conacher, who scored the team's only goal. Conacher scored on the power play 4:32 into the third period to make the score 1-1. The Cougars earned a power play opportunity when Michael Cuddemi was put in the box for boarding. Tyler VanKleef assisted on the tally. Austin Washkurak rejected 24 shots on goal for Mississauga. The Chargers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Alex Murray made 32 saves for Burlington on 35 shots. The Cougars incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
