Renouf leads Oakville over Toronto Lakeshore, 4-1

Behind a great game by Nathan Renouf, who had one goal and two assists, the Oakville Blades defeated the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots, 4-1.

Renouf scored 5:57 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Oakville. Jonah Renouf assisted on the tally. Renouf dished an assist on Greg Campbell's goal that made the score 3-1 Oakville at 19:57 into the second period. He added another helper on Renouf's goal that made the score 4-1 Oakville at 18:29 into the third period.

Oakville was led by goalie Evan Buitenhuis, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Buitenhuis certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.01 entering the contest.

Toronto Lakeshore's power play was ineffective against the Blades' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Oakville stifled the Patriots' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Oakville additionally got points from Renouf, who also had two goals and one assist and Campbell, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Oakville came via Marc Silvestro and Patrick Chore, who contributed one a piece.

Toronto Lakeshore excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Patriots were held below their usual level of production. Toronto Lakeshore puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

The Patriots were led by Kyle Dutra, who scored the team's only goal. Dutra scored 9:14 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Luke Carter picked up the assist.

The Blades incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Toronto Lakeshore's Stormer Santana stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Patriots incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
