Pickering holds on for 8-6 win against Stouffville

The Stouffville Spirit tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Pickering Panthers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 8-6.

A goal by Matt Galati put Pickering up 8-5 in the third period, but Stouffville pulled to within two on Jacob Bauchman's tally 19:54 into the third period.

The Spirit were unable to stop the Panthers from sending pucks towards the net, and Pickering eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. The Panthers found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Pickering averages 4.7 goals per game.

Pickering additionally got points from Andrew McCann, who also grabbed one goal and three assists. Pickering also got a goal from Aidan Wallace as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pickering were Dylan Hutton, who had two and Josh Herrington, Cody Doiron, Micah Nichols, and Jeff Heard, who each chipped in one.

Stouffville's offense rang up 32 shots on the Panthers' net. The Spirit bested their season scoring average. Stouffville has scored at the pace of 3.0 goals per game during the current campaign.

Stouffville also got points from Josh Carrick, who also registered one goal and one assist, Alex Botten, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Dylan Savory, who also finished with two goals and one assist. More assists for Stouffville came via Justin Wain, Thomas Tsicos, Robert Powers, and Joseph Deveny, who contributed one a piece and Sean Power and Matthew Heffernan, who each chipped in two.

Spencer Bacon rejected 26 shots on goal for Pickering. The Panthers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. GianLuca Palmieri recorded 23 saves for the Spirit. Stouffville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
