Chamberland leads Lindsay over Kingston, 8-4

The Lindsay Muskies' Felix Chamberland had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 8-4 win over the Kingston Voyageurs.

Chamberland scored on the power play at 13:25 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Lindsay and again while on the power play 15:46 into the third to make the score 7-4 Lindsay.

Lindsay pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 46 penalty minutes.

The Muskies kept Kingston's goalie busy throughout the game, and Charlie Finn made 33 saves on 41 shots. Lindsay's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Muskies average 5.0 goals per contest. Lindsay was effective with a man advantage, and put in five goals while on the power play.

Lindsay also got points from Bryce Sweeting, who also registered one goal and one assist. Lindsay also had goals scored by Brian Hubers, who had one and Tyler Donaldson and Jake Taylor, who each put in two. More assists for Lindsay came via Louis-David Bourgault, who had four and Vince Herlihey, Bryan Hignett, Dean Klomp, Terry Snoddon, Corey Jackson, and Stuart Fierheller, who contributed one a piece.

The Voyageurs forced the Muskies goalie Tanner Davis to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Kingston was led by Michael Schug, who had two goals and one assist. Schug scored the first of his two goals at 2:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kingston. Francesco Vilardi provided the assist. Schug's next tally made the score 4-2 Lindsay with 4:27 left in the first period. Brett Seney assisted on the tally. Kingston additionally got points from Vilardi, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Kingston also got a goal from Graham Yeo as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Brian Nanne, Scott Mossman, and Alex Tonge, who each chipped in one.

Davis rejected 37 shots on goal for Lindsay. The Muskies ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jacob Walters was ejected from the game. The Voyageurs totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. Team's Schug, Greg Trichilo, and Ludlow Harris were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
