The Wellington Dukes almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Kingston Voyageurs managed to pull out a 5-3 win in the end.

Kingston led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Voyageurs' Ludlow Harris' scored at 16:06 in the second period to put Kingston up 3-0.

Michael Casale had a great game for the Voyageurs, netting two goals. Casale's tallies came at 14:15 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Kingston and 18:38 into the third to make the score 5-3 Kingston.

Kingston excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Voyageurs' offense rang up 32 shots on Wellington's net.

Francesco Vilardi also scored for Kingston. More assists for Kingston came via Chad Duchesne, Michael Schug, Graham Yeo, and Scott Mossman, who contributed one a piece and Brian Nanne and Greg Trichilo, who each chipped in two.

The Dukes put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Kingston to score on any of its five power plays. The Voyageurs were unable to stop Wellington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dukes eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Wellington's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Dukes are averaging 2.3 goals against for the season.

Wellington was helped by Jan Kaminsky, who racked up one goal. Kaminsky scored 15 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-1 Kingston. Kevin Swales provided the assist. Wellington also got a goal from Craig Campbell as well. In addition, Wellington received assists from Erick Delaurentis, who had one.

Kingston's Charlie Finn stopped 28 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Voyageurs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Andrew Pearson rejected 27 shots on goal for the Dukes. Wellington incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
