The Buffalo Jr. Sabres rallied from two goals down to secure a 6-5 win over the Burlington Cougars.

Buffalo let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Jr. Sabres took a 2-1 advantage on a goal by Tim Kielich at 13:26 in the first period. Buffalo found itself down 4-2 after Burlington's Jeremy Gottzmann put the puck home at 2:11 in the third period. After evening things up at 5-5 on a goal by Gottzmann at 12:42 in the third, the Jr. Sabres got the game-winner from Josh Kielich at 17:53 in the third period.

Buffalo got the win thanks to a great game by Kielich, who had two goals and one assist. Kielich scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 5:35 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Buffalo. The Jr. Sabres had taken the advantage when the Cougars' Gottzmann got sent off for cross checking. Sean Federow provided the assist. Kielich's next tally on the power play made the score 6-5 Buffalo with 2:07 left in the third period. Buffalo had gained a power play chance when Alex Landry was whistled for elbowing. Federow picked up the assist.

The Jr. Sabres kept Burlington's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brock Novak made 30 saves on 36 shots. Buffalo's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Jr. Sabres are averaging 2.5 goals against for the season. Buffalo took advantage of the Cougars' penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities.

Buffalo also got points from Tyler Gjurich, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Ryan Schmelzer, who also had one goal and one assist, and Alex Dagnal, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Darrin Trebes, Tony DeVito, Dylan Howatt, Nolan Sheeran, and Pat Egan, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Sabres were unable to stop Burlington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cougars eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Burlington additionally got points from Cooper Richards, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Tyler VanKleef also scored for Burlington. Other players who recorded assists for Burlington were Shane Conacher, who had two and Steven Mueller, who had three.

Parker Gahagen made 31 saves for Buffalo on 36 shots. The Jr. Sabres incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Burlington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
