The Whitby Fury used a sparkling performance by Tyler Feaver to take down the Newmarket Hurricanes, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Whitby's 4-0 shutout victory. The Fury were led by Henry Thompson, who had one goal. Thompson scored 2:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Whitby. Steven Deeg assisted on the tally. Whitby put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Newmarket to score on any of its four power plays. Whitby also got points from Greg Milner, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Whitby also got a goal from Tyler Park as well. More assists for Whitby came via Taylor Best, who had two and Jonathan OHara and Zach Deconcilys, who contributed one a piece. The Hurricanes stifled the Fury's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Newmarket kept Whitby's goalie busy throughout the game, and Feaver made 31 saves on 31 shots. The Fury incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Hurricanes' Matthew Wintjes stopped 23 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Newmarket incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
