Michael Courvoisier racked up one point to lead the Burlington Cougars to a 5-1 victory over the Hamilton Red Wings. Burlington stifled Hamilton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Cougars forced the Red Wings goalie Jason Pucciarelli to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Burlington also got points from Mark Rodgers, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Burlington included Steven Mueller, who had one and Shane Conacher, who had two. In addition, Burlington received assists from Austin Kosack, Cooper Richards, Tyler Lepore, Adam Glynn, Brett Coulson, and Tyler VanKleef, who contributed one a piece. Hamilton was led by Adam DiBrina, who scored the team's only goal. DiBrina scored 3:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hamilton. Troy Crema assisted on the tally. Brock Novak recorded 24 saves for Burlington. The Cougars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Red Wings' Pucciarelli stopped 28 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Hamilton totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. For the Red Wings, Harrison Luce was ejected from the game.
