Behind a great game by CJ Shugart, who had two goals, the St. Michaels Buzzers defeated the Toronto Junior Canadiens, 4-1. Shugart scored on the power play at 9:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels and again while 5:49 into the second to make the score 2-0 St. Michaels.St. Michaels' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Toronto power plays. St. Michaels also got points from Stephen Pietrobon, who also had one goal and one assist. Jake Evans also scored for St. Michaels. More assists for St. Michaels came via Troy Josephs, Tom Haley, and Nicholas Lepone, who each chipped in one and Jordan Schneider and Jared Walsh, who contributed two a piece. Toronto could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. The Junior Canadiens were led by Nicholas Jarzabek, who scored the team's only goal. Jarzabek scored 19:23 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Michaels. Mark Spadafora provided the assist. Adrian Ignagni made 21 saves for the Buzzers on 22 shots. St. Michaels incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Toronto's starting goalie, Denny Dubblestyne, made 23 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Nathan Colitto, who stopped three shots.
