Georgetown wins tough contest against Oakville, 3-2Sixteen Mile Sports Complex Fri, Sep 07, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Georgetown Raiders escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Oakville Blades. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Drake Hart secured the win for Georgetown with a goal in the third period. Hart was all over the ice for the Raiders, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Georgetown pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 20 penalty minutes. The Raiders kept Oakville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Evan Buitenhuis made 28 saves on 31 shots. Nicholas Dozzi also scored for Georgetown. More assists for Georgetown came via Nick Perruccio, who had two and David Miller, Brendan Woods, Michael Stevens, and Alex Adams, who each chipped in one. The Blades were held below their usual level of production. Oakville averages 4.8 goals per game. The Blades were helped by Vince Cerone, who finished with one goal. Cerone scored 16:43 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Oakville. Nathan Renouf assisted on the tally. Oakville also got points from Jonah Renouf, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Oakville were Kyle Jenkins, who had one. Gabe Grunwald made 20 saves for Georgetown on 22 shots. The Raiders registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Oakville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
