Clewlow leads Fayetteville over Huntsville, 5-2

The Fayetteville FireAntz's John Clewlow had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 5-2 win over the Huntsville Havoc.

Clewlow scored 13:23 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Fayetteville. Derek Elliott provided the assist. Clewlow dished an assist on Elliott's goal that made the score 1-0 Fayetteville at 10:01 into the first period. He added another helper on Brent Tamane's goal that made the score 2-1 Fayetteville at 10:27 into the second period.

Fayetteville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The FireAntz's offense was clicking better than usual and put 35 shots on goal during the game, better than the 28.1 shots per game they average.

Fayetteville additionally got points from Elliott, who also registered one goal and one assist and Josh McQuade, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Fayetteville also got a goal from Andrew Smale as well. In addition, Fayetteville received assists from Anthony Bergin, who had two and Mike Kavanagh, Ben Contini, and Craig Cole, who contributed one a piece.

The 26 shots that Huntsville put on net surpassed the Havoc's average of 20.0 shots per game this season. Huntsville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Havoc were led by Trevor Jewell, who grabbed one goal. Jewell scored 18:09 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Chapen LeBlond also scored for Huntsville. Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Matt Smyth, who had one.

Marco Emond made 24 saves for Fayetteville on 26 shots. The FireAntz incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Huntsville's Jesse Kallechy stopped 30 shots out of the 35 that he faced.
