Hince, Knoxville blank Fayetteville, 4-0Crown Coliseum Tue, Mar 12, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Bryan Hince recorded a shutout against the Fayetteville FireAntz as the Knoxville Ice Bears picked up a 4-0 win. Knoxville was led by Matt Pierce, who registered one goal and one assist. Pierce scored 11:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Knoxville. Shaun Arvai provided the assist. The Ice Bears put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Fayetteville to score on any of its five power plays. Knoxville's defense was surprisingly good. The Ice Bears average 2.8 goals allowed per game. Knoxville also got points from Eric Satim, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Brendan Taylor also scored for Knoxville. In addition, Knoxville received assists from Jeremy Klaver, Peter Neal, and Emery Olauson, who each chipped in one. The FireAntz's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Knoxville power plays. Fayetteville did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The FireAntz put an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game. Fayetteville's offense was clicking better than usual and put 35 shots on goal during the game, better than the 24.9 shots per game it averages. The FireAntz were led by Derek Elliott, who took six shots. Hince recorded 35 saves for Knoxville. The Ice Bears incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Fayetteville's starting goalie, Kyle Rank, made eight saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Marco Emond, who stopped 13 shots. The FireAntz ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For Fayetteville, Josh McQuade was ejected from the game.
