Mississippi RiverKings boosted by Krahn's play in net, beats Huntsville 4-1

Behind a great game by Tom Craig, who had one goal and two assists, Mississippi RiverKings defeated the Huntsville Havoc, 4-1.

Craig beat Dan McWhinney with a shot 10 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississippi RiverKings. Henry Coxe picked up the assist. Craig dished an assist on Darrell Stoddard's goal that made the score 3-0 Mississippi RiverKings at 8:49 into the third period. He added another helper on Kevin Willer's goal that made the score 4-1 Mississippi RiverKings at 13:53 into the third period.

Mississippi RiverKings' penalty kill excelled, as Mississippi RiverKings gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Mississippi RiverKings stifled Huntsville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Mississippi RiverKings put 37 shots on net during the contest, more than the 18.4 it averages per game.

Mississippi RiverKings also got points from Willer, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Mississippi RiverKings also got a goal from Kyle Lundale as well. In addition, Mississippi RiverKings received assists from Mike MacDonald and Matt Whitehead, who contributed one a piece.

The Havoc stifled Mississippi RiverKings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. By firing 32 shots on goal, Huntsville exceeded the 21.0 shots it averages per game this year.

The Havoc were led by Paul DAgostino, who scored the team's only goal. DAgostino scored 11:04 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Mississippi RiverKings. Aaron McGill provided the assist.

Matthew Krahn made 31 saves for Mississippi RiverKings on 32 shots. Mississippi RiverKings totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-6 on the power play. McWhinney rejected 33 shots on goal for Huntsville. The Havoc ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major.
