Mississippi RiverKings falls to Fayetteville in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Ben Contini gave the Fayetteville FireAntz a 4-3 (OT) victory over Mississippi RiverKings when he scored 4:25 into the extra period.

Fayetteville was led by Contini, who had one goal and one assist.

With 37 shots on target during the contest, the FireAntz exceeded the 27.6 shots they average per game this year.

Fayetteville also got points from Mike Kavanagh, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Bobby Reed also scored for Fayetteville. More assists for Fayetteville came via Andrew Smale, who had two and Josh McQuade, Kyle McNeil, and Anthony Bergin, who each chipped in one.

Fayetteville was unable to stop Mississippi RiverKings from sending pucks towards the net, and Mississippi RiverKings eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

Mississippi RiverKings was helped by Matt Whitehead, who racked up one goal. Whitehead scored on the power play 15:43 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Mississippi RiverKings had taken the advantage when the FireAntz's McNeil got sent off for boarding. Mike MacDonald provided the assist. Mississippi RiverKings additionally got points from Kevin Willer, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Mississippi RiverKings also got a goal from Chris Campanale as well. In addition, Mississippi RiverKings received assists from Adam Feniak, Kyle Lundale, and Kory Helowka, who contributed one a piece.
