Matt Pierce finished with one point to lead the Knoxville Ice Bears to a 3-1 victory over the Fayetteville FireAntz. Knoxville failed to reach its usual level of shot production, putting 16 pucks on goal after averaging 21.5 shots per game this season. Brendan Taylor also scored for Knoxville. More assists for Knoxville came via Emery Olauson, who had two and Mark Van Vliet, Peter Neal, Ben Souders, and Brett Valliquette, who contributed one a piece. Fayetteville's offense operated below it season average. The FireAntz put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Fayetteville was led by Brock Sawyer, who scored the team's only goal. Sawyer scored on the power play 10:14 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The FireAntz had gained a power play chance when Bryan Hince was whistled for delay of game.
