Gerry Festa recorded a shutout against the Columbus Cottonmouths as the Pensacola Ice Flyers picked up a 4-0 win.

Pensacola was sparked by Ryan Raven, who had one goal and one assist. Raven scored 1:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pensacola. Jordan Chong provided the assist.

The Ice Flyers' defensive effort looked to be improved. Pensacola allows 2.5 goals per game. The Ice Flyers got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. The 37 shots that Pensacola put on net surpassed the Ice Flyers' average of 21.2 shots per game this season.

Steve Bergin also scored for Pensacola. More assists for Pensacola came via Ryan Salvis, who had two and Bill Foster and Jeremiah Ketts, who contributed one a piece.

The Columbus penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and one major for 21 minutes in penalty time. The Cottonmouths had been averaging 18.0 minutes in penalties per game. Columbus excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Cottonmouths were held below their usual level of production. Columbus averages 2.9 goals per game. The Cottonmouths put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 21.3 they average per game.

Columbus was led by Jason Yuel, who took five shots.

Festa rejected 30 shots on goal for Pensacola. The Ice Flyers ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Ian Vigier made 33 saves for the Cottonmouths on 37 shots. Columbus registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
