The Augusta RiverHawks had trouble finding ways to stop the Knoxville Ice Bears, which beat RiverHawks, 7-2. Knoxville got the win on the strength of a great game by Matt Pierce, who had one goal and two assists. Pierce scored on the power play 18:35 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Knoxville. The Ice Bears had gotten the advantage when Augusta's Matt Auffrey was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. Jeremy Klaver provided the assist.
