The Louisiana IceGators' Jeremey Boyer scored 42 seconds into overtime to beat the Fayetteville FireAntz, 2-1 (OT). Fayetteville was stymied by Louisiana netminder Riley Gill, who stopped 29 shots during the victory. The solid play of Gill will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.32. The IceGators were paced by Boyer, who tallied one goal and one assist. Louisiana's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Fayetteville power plays. The 25 shots that the IceGators put on net surpassed Louisiana's average of 21.9 shots per game this season. Matthew Robertson also scored for Louisiana. Other players who recorded assists for Louisiana were Kirk Byczynski, who had one. The FireAntz did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season.
