Mississippi Surge falls to Knoxville in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Knoxville Ice Bears' Eric Satim scored 1:45 into overtime to beat Mississippi Surge, 4-3 (OT).

Satim was all over the ice for Knoxville, as he registered two goals in the win.

The Ice Bears average 30.0 shots on goal per game, but only sent 20 pucks on net against Mississippi Surge.

Shaun Arvai also scored for Knoxville. In addition, Knoxville received assists from Jon Higgins, who had two and Jeremy Klaver, Tyler Fernandez, Matt Pierce, Berkley Scott, and Dan Bremner, who each chipped in one.

Mississippi Surge relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Tommy Lange, Jay Silvia and Corey Tamblyn took 19 of the team's 32 shots.

Mississippi Surge was led by Reid Edmondson, who racked up one goal and two assists. Edmondson scored 12:48 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Adam Stuart picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for Mississippi Surge were Jarkko Leppanen, who had one.

Knoxville's Peter Skoggard stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Ice Bears totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Kiefer Smiley rejected 16 shots on goal for Mississippi Surge. Mississippi Surge totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
