Huntsville falls to Columbus in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Matt Gingera gave the Columbus Cottonmouths a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Huntsville Havoc when he scored 3:47 into the extra period.

Columbus was led by Gingera, who registered one goal.

The Cottonmouths' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Huntsville power plays. Columbus put 33 shots on net during the contest, more than the 26.3 it averages per game.

Columbus also got a goal from Mark Thorburn as well. More assists for Columbus came via Tom Maldonado, Derek Pallardy, Sam Bowles, and Chris Bailer, who each chipped in one.

Huntsville forced the Cottonmouths goalie Andrew Loewen to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

The Havoc were helped by Justin Fox, who finished with one goal. Fox scored 17:04 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Columbus. Brett Liscomb picked up the assist. Sam Cannata also scored for Huntsville. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Stuart Stefan, who had one.

Columbus' Loewen stopped 40 shots out of the 42 that he faced. The Cottonmouths incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Dan McWhinney rejected 30 shots on goal for Huntsville. The Havoc incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
