Knoxville downs Augusta, 5-2Phoenix Refrigeration Ice Fri, Dec 28, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Zach Tatrn finished with two points to lead the Knoxville Ice Bears to a 5-2 victory over the Augusta RiverHawks. Knoxville's defensemen played well offensively, producing two goals while racking up 12 shots. Knoxville also got points from Eric Satim, who also had one goal and one assist. Jeremy Klaver also scored for Knoxville. In addition, Knoxville received assists from Nate Peterson and Dan Bremner, who contributed one a piece and Tyler Fernandez, Brett Valliquette, and Emery Olauson, who each chipped in two. Augusta was helped by Matt Auffrey, who tallied one goal. Auffrey scored on the power play 1:55 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Augusta. The RiverHawks had gotten the advantage when the Ice Bears' Shaun Arvai was sent off for hooking. Augusta also got a goal from Taylor McReynolds as well. More assists for Augusta came via Drew Slaton, who had one. Connor Toomey recorded 27 saves for Knoxville. The Ice Bears incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Austin Lee made 23 saves for Augusta on 28 shots. The RiverHawks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
