The game between the Pensacola Ice Flyers and Mississippi RiverKings was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Pensacola emerged with a 4-2 win.

The Ice Flyers gained the winning advantage on a goal by Brent Clarke 5:09 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Pensacola's penalty kill excelled, as the Ice Flyers gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Ice Flyers stifled Mississippi RiverKings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Pensacola also got points from John Dunbar, who also had one goal and one assist. Pensacola also got a goal from Jordan Chong as well. In addition, Pensacola received assists from Ron Cramer, who had two and Jeremy Gates and Ryan Salvis, who each chipped in one.

Mississippi RiverKings struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Pensacola to score two power play goals on three chances. With 43 shots on target during the contest, Mississippi RiverKings exceeded the 28.7 shots it averages per game this year.

Mississippi RiverKings was helped by Darrell Stoddard, who registered one goal. Stoddard scored 11:21 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Mississippi RiverKings.
