Huge game by Skelly boosts Augusta over Fayetteville, 7-4Crown Coliseum Thu, Dec 06, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Augusta RiverHawks' Shawn Skelly had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-4 win over the Fayetteville FireAntz. Skelly's tallies came at 5:35 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Fayetteville and 12:07 into the third to make the score 5-4 Augusta.Augusta's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Fayetteville power plays. The RiverHawks outdid their season average for goals scored. Augusta has scored at the pace of 2.2 goals per game during the current campaign. The RiverHawks put 40 shots on net during the contest, more than the 29.9 they average per game. Augusta additionally got points from Ian Watters, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Taylor McReynolds also scored for Augusta. In addition, Augusta received assists from Michael Switzer, Matt Atsoff, Ian Jensen, and Matt Auffrey, who contributed one a piece. BJ OBrien made 25 saves before being replaced by Robbie Moss, who took the win and made 11 saves. Augusta incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Shane Madolora took the loss and made 32 saves before being replaced by Marco Emond who made one save.
