Louisiana's comeback falls short, Pensacola wins 4-2Cajundome Fri, Nov 30, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Pensacola Ice Flyers came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Louisiana IceGators, but did just enough to escape with a 4-2 victory. Pensacola led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Ice Flyers' Pat Knowlton's scored at 12:36 in the second period to put Pensacola up 3-0. The Ice Flyers got the win behind a great game by Knowlton, who had two goals and one assist. Pensacola relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Leo Thomas, Jordan Chong and Knowlton took 15 of the team's 29 shots. Pensacola additionally got points from Chong, who also had one goal and one assist. Pensacola also got a goal from Tyler Soehner as well. In addition, Pensacola received assists from Ryan Raven, who had two and Ryan Salvis and John Dunbar, who contributed one a piece. Louisiana was helped by Matt Miller, who finished with one goal. Miller scored on the power play 11:31 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Pensacola. Kirk Byczynski provided the assist. Matthew Robertson also scored for Louisiana. More assists for Louisiana came via Denny Kearney, Robert Short, and Jordan Foreman, who each chipped in one. Steve Christie rejected 21 shots on goal for the Ice Flyers.
