Louisiana falls to Mississippi Surge in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Mississippi Surge pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Louisiana IceGators on a clutch goal by Corey Tamblyn.

Mississippi Surge nearly gave up a three-score lead. Mississippi Surge made the score 4-1 on a goal by Tamblyn at 10:35 in the second period. Louisiana pulled to within 4-3 on a power play goal by Kirk Byczynski at 12:49 in the third period.

Tamblyn had two goals to lead Mississippi Surge to victory.

With 29 shots on target during the contest, Mississippi Surge exceeded the 25.2 shots it averages per game this year. Mississippi Surge outdid its season average for goals scored. Mississippi Surge averages 2.8 goals per game.

Mississippi Surge additionally got points from Matt Gordon, who also had one goal and one assist. Mississippi Surge also got a goal from Tommy Lange as well. In addition, Mississippi Surge received assists from James Isaacs, who had two and Nicholas Kuqali, Kyle VanderMale, Payden Benning, and Derek Graham, who each chipped in one.
