Huge game by Kosolofsky boosts Mississippi Surge over Huntsville, 8-3Mississippi Coast Coliseum Sat, Nov 17, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Mississippi Surge's Branden Kosolofsky had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 8-3 win over the Huntsville Havoc. Kosolofsky's tallies came at 5:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississippi Surge and on the power play 11:18 into the third to make the score 8-3 Mississippi Surge.Mississippi Surge bested its season scoring average. Mississippi Surge has scored at the pace of 3.5 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of Mississippi Surge were also effective in Huntsville's zone, and came away with two goals. The 38 shots that Mississippi Surge put on net surpassed Mississippi Surge's average of 31.1 shots per game this season. Mississippi Surge also got points from Kyle VanderMale, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Jeff Grant, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Mississippi Surge included Tommy Lange, who had two and Cole Ruwe and Brad Good, who each put in one. Dan Clark rejected 27 shots on goal for Mississippi Surge. Mississippi Surge incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Huntsville's starting goalie, Jonathan LaRose, made 19 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Dan McWhinney, who stopped 11 shots. The Havoc registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
