McQuade leads Fayetteville over Huntsville, 4-1

Josh McQuade had two goals and one assist to lead the Fayetteville FireAntz to a 4-1 victory over the Huntsville Havoc.

McQuade's tallies came at 12:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fayetteville and 16:25 into the first to make the score 2-0 Fayetteville.

Fayetteville managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The FireAntz ended up below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Fayetteville relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as McQuade, Kyle McNeil and John Clewlow took 15 of the team's 29 shots.

Other players who recorded assists for Fayetteville were Bobby Reed, who had two and Ben Contini and Andrew Smale, who contributed one a piece.

Huntsville was led by Cory Park, who scored the team's only goal. Park scored 12:21 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Fayetteville. Shane Hart assisted on the tally.

Shane Madolora made 18 saves for the FireAntz on 19 shots. Fayetteville registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. Jonathan LaRose rejected 25 shots on goal for the Havoc. Huntsville finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-1 with the man advantage.
