Mississippi Surge beats Mississippi RiverKings 5-0 as Smiley gains shutout

Kiefer Smiley was superb between the pipes for Mississippi Surge, as he did not allow a goal in a 5-0 victory over Mississippi RiverKings.

Shawn Skelly had a great game for Mississippi Surge, netting two goals. Skelly found the back of the net on the power play 13:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississippi Surge and again while on the power play 8:26 into the second to make the score 3-0 Mississippi Surge.

Mississippi Surge excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Mississippi Surge's defensive effort looked to be improved.
