Augusta falls to Knoxville in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Knoxville Ice Bears pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Augusta RiverHawks on a clutch goal by Berkley Scott.

Scott had one goal and two assists to lead Knoxville. Scott scored 4:15 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Knoxville. Mike Towns provided the assist.

The Ice Bears' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Augusta power plays. Knoxville kept Augusta's goalie busy throughout the game, and BJ OBrien made 31 saves on 34 shots.

Knoxville also got a goal from Emery Olauson as well. More assists for Knoxville came via Mark Van Vliet, who had one and Ricky Helmbrecht, who had two.

The RiverHawks put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 22.0 they average per game.

Augusta was helped by Ian Watters, who finished with one goal. Watters scored 1:48 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Augusta. Curtis Megginson picked up the assist. Drew Baker also scored for Augusta. In addition, Augusta received assists from Kyle Watson and Chad Ziegler, who each chipped in one.

Connor Toomey made 28 saves for the Ice Bears on 30 shots. Knoxville totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. The RiverHawks ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major.
