Mississippi RiverKings downs Augusta, 2-0

Daniel Barczuk grabbed two points to lead Mississippi RiverKings to a 2-0 victory over the Augusta RiverHawks.

Mississippi RiverKings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Augusta to score on any of its three power plays. With 40 shots on target during the contest, Mississippi RiverKings exceeded the 30.6 shots it averages per game this year.

Mississippi RiverKings additionally got points from Ian Finnerty, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Mississippi RiverKings received assists from Nick Walsh, who had two.

The RiverHawks were often in penalty trouble, totaling 10 minors and one major for 35 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 20.0 minutes per game Augusta had been spending in the box. The RiverHawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in nine chances.
