The Augusta RiverHawks tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but Mississippi RiverKings held on for a 5-4 victory. Mississippi RiverKings took a 5-2 lead during the third period, only to have Augusta storm back on a Matt Puntureri goal 19:26 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Mississippi RiverKings put 39 shots on net during the contest, more than the 32.8 it averages per game. Mississippi RiverKings was helped by Darrell Stoddard, who grabbed one goal. Stoddard scored 7:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississippi RiverKings. Matt Whitehead assisted on the tally. Mississippi RiverKings additionally got points from Ian Finnerty, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Daniel Barczuk, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Whitehead, who also had one goal and one assist. Mississippi RiverKings also got a goal from Andrew Randazzo as well.
