Jersey Wildcats holds on for 4-3 win against Brewster Bulldogs

Brewster Bulldogs tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but Jersey Wildcats would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

A goal by Corey Carnahan put Jersey Wildcats up 4-2 in the third period, but Brewster Bulldogs pulled to within one on Gregory Hennings' tally 6:36 into the third period.

In a losing effort, Brewster Bulldogs was led by James Maxson, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Maxson scored the first of his two goals at 30 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brewster Bulldogs. Taylor Folchetti picked up the assist. Maxson's next tally made the score 2-2 with 4:02 left in the second period. Folchetti assisted on the tally.

Jersey Wildcats excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Jersey Wildcats kept Brewster Bulldogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Matthew Rubenstein made 38 saves on 42 shots. Jersey Wildcats got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Jersey Wildcats also got a goal from Matthew Horn as well. More assists for Jersey Wildcats came via Nicholas Hermann and Austin Gordon, who each chipped in one.

Other players who recorded assists for Brewster Bulldogs were Derek DeCora, who had one and Christopher Hagen, who had two.

Gennaro Anzevino made 18 saves for Jersey Wildcats on 21 shots. Jersey Wildcats incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Brewster Bulldogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
