New Hampshire uses big games from Boyer and Mandigo to down Boston Bandits, 8-5

Behind two goals and one assist from Brett Boyer and two goals and one assist from Ross Mandigo, the New Hampshire Jr Monarchs downed Boston Bandits 8-5.

Boyer scored the first of his two goals at 19:24 into the second period to make the score 6-4 New Hampshire. Christopher Moquin provided the assist. Boyer's next tally made the score 7-4 New Hampshire with 17:14 left in the third period. Michael Bears assisted on the tally. Mandigo scored the first of his two goals at 33 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-2. Mandigo's next tally made the score 4-3 New Hampshire with 6:58 left in the second period. Brent Beaudoin provided the assist.

New Hampshire forced Boston Bandits goalie Ryan McCarthy to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. The Jr Monarchs surpassed their usual scoring output this season. New Hampshire averages 5.8 goals per game. The Jr Monarchs' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. New Hampshire averages 2.1 goals allowed per game.

New Hampshire additionally got points from Mandigo, who also had two goals and one assist, Shane Tracy, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Beaudoin, who also registered one goal and two assists. Eric Grover also scored for New Hampshire. More assists for New Hampshire came via Shane Earley, who had one and James Jamieson, who had two.

Boston Bandits put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Jr Monarchs to score on any of their four power plays. Boston Bandits' offense rang up 34 shots on New Hampshire's net.

Boston Bandits was led by Thomas Daniels, who finished with two goals and one assist. Daniels scored the first of his two goals at 18 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Boston Bandits. John Malewicz assisted on the tally. Daniels' next tally made the score 2-1 Boston Bandits with 2:33 left in the first period. Boston Bandits had gotten the advantage when the Jr Monarchs' Adriano Mungioli was sent off for hooking. Connor Wiggins picked up the assist. Boston Bandits also had goals scored by Erik Hajdu, who had one and Kevin Yun, who had two. In addition, Boston Bandits received assists from Wesley Monson, who had two and Derek Ridgway, Michael Taormina, Aharon Lara, and Connor Graham, who contributed one a piece.

Cole Burack recorded 29 saves for New Hampshire. The Jr Monarchs incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Boston Bandits' McCarthy stopped 37 shots out of the 45 that he faced. Boston Bandits incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
