Huge game by Heinze boosts Valley over Bay State, 6-2

The Valley Junior Warriors' Brendan Heinze had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-2 win over the Bay State Breakers.

Heinze scored at 17:17 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Valley and again while 17:45 into the second to make the score 4-2 Valley.

Valley forced Bay State's goalies to work all game long, firing 40 shots and forcing 34 saves. Matthew Farrell made 30 stops and Redmund Hunt made four. The Junior Warriors surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Valley averages 3.8 goals per contest.

Valley additionally got points from Matthew Culot, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Luke Miller, who also finished with one goal and two assists, and Lincoln Vamos, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Valley also got a goal from Rory OConnor as well. In addition, Valley received assists from Brian Meany, Mitchell Moran, and Brendan Philippon, who contributed one a piece.

The Breakers were helped by Bradley Power, who grabbed one goal. Power scored on the power play 3:50 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Bay State. Bay State had taken the advantage when the Junior Warriors' Heinze got sent off for slashing. Ryan ODonnell picked up the assist. Christopher Perry also scored for Bay State. Other players who recorded assists for Bay State were Brendan Callow, who had one.

Matthew Saraceno rejected 26 shots on goal for Valley. The Junior Warriors totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. The Breakers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
