Florida Eels survived a determined comeback attempt by the Tampa Bay Juniors on the way to a 5-3 win. Florida Eels made the score 5-2 on a goal by Reid Halabi at 14:21 in the third period, and Tampa Bay got as close as 5-3 when Austin Teall scored 17:29 into the third period. Matthew Kiesel had two goals and one assist to lead Florida Eels. Kiesel scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 3:08 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Florida Eels had gotten the advantage when the Juniors' Ed Kawczak was sent off for checking from behind. Halabi assisted on the tally. Kiesel's next tally on the power play made the score 4-2 Florida Eels with 8:51 left in the third period. Halabi provided the assist. Florida Eels stifled Tampa Bay's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Florida Eels' offense rang up 38 shots on the Juniors' net. Florida Eels additionally got points from Halabi, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Florida Eels also got a goal from Max Mazzullo as well. More assists for Florida Eels came via Brian Dennerlein, Patrick Daniels, Jonathan Carlson, and Michael Viera, who each chipped in one. Tampa Bay's offense operated below it season average. The Juniors put an average of 5.4 pucks into the net per game. Tampa Bay forced Florida Eels goalie Marc Terriault to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. Tampa Bay also got points from Brendan Nicholson, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Tampa Bay were Ryan Odgers, Zachary Capco, and Christian Aunspaugh, who contributed one a piece. Marc Terriault made 46 saves for Florida Eels on 49 shots. Florida Eels incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Emil Eriksson recorded 33 saves for the Juniors. Tampa Bay incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
