Brewster blows out Adirondack, 6-1

The Brewster Bulldogs were firing on all cylinders against the Adirondack Junior Wings, and when the final buzzer sounded Bulldogs emerged with a 6-1 win.

Brewster was led by goalie Brandon Belz, who finished with 43 saves while allowing one goal. Belz certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 4.12 entering the contest.

The Bulldogs forced Junior Wings' netminders to work all game long, launching 38 shots and forcing 32 saves. Chet Tooker made 14 stops and Matt Cologgi made 18. Brewster stifled Adirondack's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bulldogs surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Brewster has scored at the pace of 3.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

The Bulldogs were helped by Christopher Litwin, who racked up two goals. Litwin scored the first of his two goals at 15:47 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Brewster. Francesco Sherding picked up the assist. Litwin's next tally made the score 6-1 Brewster with 6:56 left in the third period. David Rubenstein provided the assist. Brewster also got points from Blaze Vogliano, who also registered one goal and one assist and Rubenstein, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Brewster also got a goal from Sean Henderson as well. More assists for Brewster came via Brett Barry, Jonathan Lovorn, and Owen Gatto, who contributed one a piece.

Brewster was unable to stop the Junior Wings from sending pucks towards the net, and Adirondack eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

The Junior Wings were led by Nicholas Oda, who scored the team's only goal. Oda scored 17:34 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Brewster. Dustin Lavalley picked up the assist.

The Bulldogs incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Adirondack incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
