Sacco leads NY AppleCore over Brewster, 9-4

The NY AppleCore Minor B's Dominick Sacco had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing two assists in his team's 9-4 win over the Brewster Bulldogs.

Sacco notched his first tally 4:32 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:03 into the first, at 15:20 into the second, and at 8:08 into the third.

NY AppleCore forced Brewster goalie Conor Bunyan to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots. The Minor B bested their season scoring average. NY AppleCore has scored at the pace of 4.0 goals per game during the current campaign. The Minor B got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

NY AppleCore also got points from Jonas Toupal, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Nolan Pues, who also racked up one goal and three assists, and Nicolas Jasmin, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Liam Pues also scored for NY AppleCore. In addition, NY AppleCore received assists from Cale Schoenberg, who had one, Michael Conslato, who had four, and Cameron Giertych, Andrew DeAngelis, and Jonathan Kaszuba, who each chipped in two.

The Bulldogs' offense rang up 36 shots on NY AppleCore's net.

Brewster was led by Michael Benincasa, who finished with two goals and one assist. Benincasa scored the first of his two goals at 4:07 into the second period to make the score 3-2 NY AppleCore. Brad Alexander assisted on the tally. Benincasa's next tally made the score 4-4 with 5:26 left in the second period. The Bulldogs had taken the advantage when the Minor B's Zachary Stamates got sent off for boarding. Brett Barry picked up the assist. Brewster additionally got points from Barry, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Kevin McGee, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Brewster came via Francesco Sherding, Sean Henderson, and Robert VanRaamsdonk, who contributed one a piece.

Christoph Mutschin recorded 32 saves for NY AppleCore. The Minor B incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Conor Bunyan made 43 saves for Brewster on 52 shots. The Bulldogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
