NY AppleCore rips Brewster, 8-4Brewster Ice Arena Sat, Jan 12, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The NY AppleCore Minor B were firing on all cylinders against the Brewster Bulldogs, and when the final buzzer sounded Minor B emerged with an 8-4 win. Michael Conslato was all over the ice for NY AppleCore, as he had two goals in the win. Conslato scored at 7:43 into the first period to make the score 2-0 NY AppleCore and again while 6:20 into the second to make the score 3-1 NY AppleCore. The Minor B managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. NY AppleCore finished below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. The Minor B's offense rang up 55 shots on Brewster's net. NY AppleCore found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Minor B average 3.9 goals per contest. NY AppleCore cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring two goals on three chances. NY AppleCore also had goals scored by Kevin T Miller, who had one, Brian Birbrayer, who had two, and Cale Schoenberg, who had three. More assists for NY AppleCore came via Jonas Toupal, who had three, Cameron Giertych, Andrew DeAngelis, Dominick Sacco, Liam Pues, Nicolas Jasmin, and Jonathan Kaszuba, who each chipped in one, and Nicholas Mardirossian and Blake Manginell, who contributed two a piece. The Bulldogs kept the Minor B's goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Kapelmaster made 27 saves on 31 shots. Brewster was led by Sean Henderson, who registered two goals and one assist. Henderson scored the first of his two goals at 5:58 into the second period to make the score 2-1 NY AppleCore. Brad Alexander picked up the assist. Henderson's next tally made the score 8-3 NY AppleCore with 6:28 left in the third period. Brian Schiff provided the assist. Brewster additionally got points from Alexander, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Brewster also got a goal from Michael Benincasa as well. In addition, Brewster received assists from Francesco Sherding and Kevin McGee, who each chipped in one. Brandon Belz rejected 47 shots on goal for the Bulldogs. Brewster incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
